Ray was the co-founding partner of FutureBrand a global branding consultancy with 23 offices worldwide and is the dedicated branding corridor for Interpublic Group, the worlds largest publicly trade communications company. Ray co-managed and owned the division responsible for North America and Middle East with offices in New York, Toronto, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Ray's expertise is a unique combination of design, branding and technology which helped FutureBrand leverage today's technology to meet the changing branding and marketing landscapes. Ray's team developed and managed brands for fortune 500 companies such as: GM, Microsoft, GSK, Intel, UPS, Bank of America, Nestle, Master Card, and The Tourism Board of Mexico.
Leveraging Ray's and his partner Mario's background in Architecture, Futurebrand has branded and marketed real estate throughout North America and the Middle East. Recognizing early on in 1999 that the Middle East was about to under go an explosive growth. Ray and his team seeded an office in Dubai, which is now leader for real estate branding and marketing in the region. By 2004, FutureBrand was the agency of record for Emaar and Nakheel, the top two real estate development companies in the Middle East. FutureBrand subsequently went on to an exclusive arrangement with Nakheel and its parent company The Dubai Port authority. During this period, FutureBrand has branded and marketed over 250 Billion Dollars US worth of real estate, including developments such as The Palm, The World, Dubai Waterfront, Burj Dubai, and Dubai Marina. Ray sold his interest in FutureBrand as of the end of 2007.
While in Dubai, Ray seized the early growing market needs and identified a lack of Arabian themed stock photos. Jump Images was formed to produce stock photos and video of world class standard specialized for the Middle Eastern market. Getty Images/Gallo Images, the worlds leading stock image provider acquired Jump Images library in 2007 and currently accounts for the majority of the Getty Images Middle Eastern collection.
Ray received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Toronto. He managed an award-winning architectural firm and collaborated on numerous award-winning designs around the world.
He is a frequent lecturer on branding and his team published annual branding studies: the Country Brand Index and the Gulf Real Estate Study. Ray's articles and interviews have regularly been featured in numerous magazines and newspapers.
Ray currently spends time in Hong Kong, Dubai and Toronto. His passion is centered towards enhancing brand experiences by way of the latest technologies and innovations.
